Design the Cover Contest

2019 Contest Open for Submissions Now!

This year commemorates Eastern’s 10th Commencement Ceremony!  To honor this milestone Eastern is wanting your help.  The 2019 Commencement Cover Art Contest is open to all residents of Eastern’s six-county district. The winner will have their artwork displayed on our cover of this year’s 2019 Commencement Program, along with a brief bio on the inside cover. The winner will also receive Eastern Gear.

Instructions:

CREATE

  • Create an original artwork.  Original artwork can graphic art, photography, painted or drawn by hand. 

SAVE

  • Photograph Artwork
  • Max Width: 1200 px    Max Height:  900 px    Resolution 72dpi    File Formats:  jpg, gif, and png.  Should not exceed 1MB.

SUBMIT

  • One (1) submission is allowed.
  • Save image using following filename and type: First Name_LastName_Program_Year.jpg
  • Submission email should have Commencement Cover Art Contest as the subject.
  • Send submission to lacey.koontz@easternwv.edu

        
DEADLINE    All entries must be received no later than 4:00 PM (EST) on March 1, 2019.
 
Eligibility. You are eligible to enter the Commencement Program Cover competition if you are (Resident of Eastern WV CTC (EWVCTC) six-county district. 

Entries. Cover designs submitted must be the original work of the submitter.  Joint submissions are permitted.  All entries must be submitted electronically to EWVCTC via email. Entries will not be accepted by any other means. Entries must include the entrant’s name, address, e-mail address, phone number, entry, and school information (if applicable). The Winning Entry becomes the property of EWVCTC.  Once an entry is submitted, no changes may be made. By entering this Contest, entrants give permission for EWVCTC to announce their name if selected as the winner and permission to publish their submission (see Publication Section below). EWVCTC is not responsible for any technical malfunction or service outage related to the Contest.
 
Entry Deadline. The deadline for receipt of entries is March 1, 2019.  Entries received after the deadline will not be accepted.
 
Selection of Winner. Selection of the winner will be based on originality, creativity and overall quality. The Contest will be voted upon by EWVCTC faculty, staff, students and community.  The Winner will be notified by email by March 22nd.  The Winning submission will be announced on or about March 22nd and posted on the Commencement Program Design Contest webpage and EWVCTC Facebook pages.
 
Prizes. The Winning submission will be featured as the cover of EWVCTC’s 2019 Commencement Program.  The Winner’s bio will be featured within the program and on EWVCTC webpage. EWVCTC gear will also be given to the Winner.
  
Publication. Winning entries may potentially be published on EWVCTC website, EWVCTC Facebook pages, EWVCTC twitter feeds, and in EWVCTC publications such as Talon Talk. Other entries may also be considered for publication. The decision whether to publish any entry is made by EWVCTC. By entering, the entrants grant to EWVCTC the following rights: (1) the exclusive worldwide right of first publication of their entry in any and all EWVCTC media or form of communication; (2) the non-exclusive worldwide right, in EWVCTC’s sole discretion, to use, transcribe, publish reproduce, distribute, sell (as part of an EWVCTC publication) or display the entry, alone or in conjunction with other materials; (3) the right to edit the design to include text and the EWVCTC logo to conform to the publication’s standards of style, technological requirements, provided the overall design is not materially altered; and (4) the non-exclusive worldwide right to use the entrant’s name and likeness in connection with the Commencement Design or this Contest without compensation. Additionally, the winning entrant grants EWVCTC the publication rights enumerated above and the right to use the design for any other purpose related to the EWVCTC mission.
 
Disputes. EWVCTC will be the final arbiter of all questions regarding entries, judging, and interpretation of the rules and any other aspect of the Contest.
 
Conditions of Participation. By participating, each entrant agrees to these Official Rules and the decisions of EWVCTC, and releases and discharges EWVCTC, subsidiary and affiliated entities, and each of their respective officers, directors, members, employees, independent contractors, agents, representatives, successors and assigns (collectively “EWVCTC”) from any and all liability whatsoever in connection with this promotion, including without limitation legal claims, costs, injuries, losses or damages, demands or actions of any kind (including without limitation personal injuries, death, damage to, loss or destruction of property, rights of publicity or privacy, defamation, or portrayal in a false light) (collectively “Claims”). Except where prohibited, acceptance of a prize constitutes a release by any winner of EWVCTC of any and all Claims in connection with the administration of this Contest and the use, misuse or possession of any prize. All entries become the property of EWVCTC and will not be acknowledged or returned. EWVCTC is not responsible for errors or for lost, late, or misdirected mail or email, or telecommunication or hardware or software failures, including by reason of any bug or computer virus or other failure. Should technical or other difficulties arise that compromise the integrity of the Contest, EWVCTC may cancel, modify or suspend the Contest without notice. In that case, EWVCTC reserves the right to award the prizes from eligible entries received before the cancellation.

EWVCTC reserves the right to void entries it deems associated with electronic or non-electronic tampering.
