Trunk-N-Treat 2013

Event Information

Join us for an evening of family fun and adventure! Winners of the Art Contest (ages 12 and under) and the Pumpkin Carving Contest (all ages) will be announced the night of the event. See Rules and Regulations below.

Art Contest Official Rules

Entry:

  • Contest open to children ages 12 and under; void where prohibited
  • One (1) entry per person per contest, please
  • To enter, download the art worksheet , print out the page, design using any elements you want, and return your entry to Eastern West Virginia Community & Technical College
  • Entries can be dropped off, or you can mail your entry to:

  • Be sure to include child's name and age, winners will be announced at the event
  • Categories:
    • Ages 2-4
    • Ages 5-7
    • Ages 8-12

Judging:

  • Entries will be judged at contest end.
  • Entries will be judged on the basis of creativity
  • Decisions are at the discretion of Eastern West Virginia Community & Technical College and are subject to change at any time
  • We reserve the right to award multiple winners, or no winners

Winners:

  • Winners will be announced at the event
  • Specific prizes will be chosen by Eastern West Virginia Community & Technical College, at our discretion
  • Coloring Contest ends 10/25/13. Submissions received with a postmark after this date will be displayed, but not judged
  • For a complete list of winners, write to Eastern West Virginia Community & Technical College at the street address above, and include a self-addressed, stamped envelope

 

Pumpkin Carving Rules

Please read the rules carefully!

Entries

  • Drop off carved pumpkin entries at Eastern WV Community & Technical College front desk Monday, October 28 – Wednesday, October 30, 9:00 am – 7:00 pm
  • Carved pumpkins must have the BOTTOM of the pumpkin removed so the pumpkin can be set on top 
    of an LED light that Eastern will provide (so cut the bottom or part of the bottom off when cleaning out the pumpkin)
  • Pumpkin must stand upright without any prop, artificial base or other external support
  • Pumpkins MUST be carved, but may include paint and decorations
  • Pumpkin carvings can be original, or carved from commercially available stencils, etc.
  • The owner’s name, age category, address, phone and email must be attached securely to the BACK of the pumpkin on an index card or piece of paper

Judging

  • Pumpkins will be judged on
    • how well the carving looks outside, when lit by an inside, Eastern-provided LED light
    • carving skills
    • overall esthetic appeal
  • Carving subjects deemed inappropriate will not be judged or displayed
  • Pumpkins that deteriorate or mold will be removed from display
  • Judging for the first contest will be October 31st at 5:30pm.
  • There will be two age categories:
    • age 14‐adult
    • youth 13 and under

Prizes

Prizes will include:

  • Subway Gift Cards
  • McDonald’s Gift Cards
  • Sheetz Gift Cards
